what is god for you?
mig. in the video you were asked what god is for you. is there something you wish to add?
kj. god for me is being in mother nature, it's being inside a beautiful natural space where i can find a unique balance. it's a lot about seeking a middle ground where i'm not moving too fast and i'm not standing still; it's a calm and content place in between, where i feel at peace.
mig. is the word god controversial for you? if yes why?
kj. to an extent yes, because i feel that it is very charged; it has the capacity to inspire intense feelings that sometimes lead to negativity.
mig. do you think of religion when you hear the word god? if yes, why?
kj. yes, because that's how it has been placed upon me from society. when i was 5 years old i was told by another young girl that i was going to hell because i didn't go to church and i was not baptised; that was an interesting concept for me and when i told my mom about it, she said that all i need to do is treat others the way i would like to be treated. so that is how i have consistently thought of my existence since then.
mig. do you believe everything happens for a reason, or are we the reason why things happen?
kj. i feel like it's a combination, its not one or another, they pull on and at each other.
mig. define love. what does love mean for you?
kj. caring so deeply for people that you treat them with respect, listen to what they have to say and show them that you are grateful for them.
mig. do you think love is something all life forms share?
kj. i think it's different for different life forms, but i think they all have love to some extent.
mig. what in your opinion can make a relationship last a whole lifetime?
mig. what have you learned about life so far?
kj. i have learned that i don't have a lot of patience. i believe very much in something called earth medicine, which has characteristics similar to astrology but is based on the earth's cycles. i was born on april the first which is the spring time and as spring is very much the "rebirth" time of year; it's a very anticipatory period with a lot of excitement for things to begin; which leads to me having difficulties with patience. but having this understanding is powerful and helps me be more aware of it, to learn to practice it; this consciousness is important to me, as i try to do my best to think of others long this journey to enhance my patience.
mig. how would you describe us/humanity today?
kj. i feel like we are at a place of struggle, because we are moving so fast, and trying to find a balance has become more complicated, due to technology, the shrinking of space / time and the way we are so interconnected around the world. I feel like we are in a race with an unknown finish point, and we need to figure out how to slow things down and enjoy the moments.
