what is god for you?
mig. in the video you were asked what god is for you. is there something you wish to add?
cb. god for me is probably just all of us on this physical matter that we call earth; i think god is within all of us. i am not a big proponent of organized religion; i am more so a proponent of connecting with whoever he is or she is or it is in your own spare time. i think god is just all of us, living, dying, altogether.
mig. is the word god controversial for you? if yes why?
cb. i don't think so.
mig. do you think of religion when you hear the word god? if yes, why?
cb. i think i have to, just because of the world we live in and the paradigms that have been set up in these times. you hear the word god and for some people it is controversial and for others it isn't; for myself i don't think it is at all, with the different background i have grown up with. my parents are moonies. i guess i have to, just because religion is brought up in every political battle; there is always some type of religious undertone.
mig. do you believe everything happens for a reason, or are we the reason why things happen?
cb. i believe the latter, i believe we are the reason why things happen and i guess that is why things happen for a reason. so yes, i believe so, but i believe you can shape that up until a certain point; i have definitely seen that with my own experience.
mig. define love. what does love mean for you?
cb. i don't think there is one specific definition; i think there are a whole bunch of iterations of love, but i guess it just has to do with a non verbal feeling where you don't need to speak it or say it too much, then you kind of just know its there, a lot of times it is based on life experiences. so i guess thats it for me.
mig. do you think love is something all life forms share?
cb. yes. 100%.
mig. what in your opinion can make a relationship last a whole lifetime?
cb. love, communication, definitely understanding. i think people think that the person they will marry is going to be the same person they will be with 20 years from now. this isn't true; love evolves, you have to be either up for that adventure or not up for that adventure.
mig. what have you learned about life so far?
cb. I'm only 23 so i don't think that i have a lot to say about this, but from my own experiences, being from the virgin islands and having moved to the united states, if you want something you really have to go for it; you can't say no, don't let money or other people get in the way, you really have to just knock on doors and go for whatever you want to do. especially in a city like new york.
mig. how would you describe us/humanity today?
cb. i think we are in an interesting time, where we are very connected, on different levels. i have developed an app, so i am very embedded in technology but i also am creative through my freelance set design work- so i have those two going for me, but i really just see our humanity. well, hopefully we can use technology to our advantage; we can log in wherever we are and know what people around the world are saying; i think we are at a point where it can either destroy us or make us become the one race that god, al jaras farah or allah, whoever you believe in, was meant to be.
